Opportunity for Older Adults with limited income to receive $40 to Spend at our Tucker Farmers Market
The Tucker Lifelong Community Committee is working with the Tucker Farmers Market (Facebook Page) along with the accompanying outreach programs. We have been working on our Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Voucher program for the summer. Eligible participating seniors will receive $40 to spend at the selected local farmers of our Tucker Farmers Market to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables which are in season.
We will assist the seniors with filling out their applications (no proof of income required). Their applications will be submitted so that they can receive their vouchers. The seniors will receive a call at the beginning of the week for them to shop on that Thursday. We will meet the seniors on their assigned Thursday shopping day at the Tucker Farmers Market, give them their vouchers and take them to each designated local farmer for them to purchase their fresh vegetable and fruits which are in season with their vouchers.
Eligible participants must be 60+ years young with an income of $21,978 or less annually for a one person household to qualify (amounts for more than one in a household listed below).
$21,978 or less annually for a one person household
$29,637 or less annually for a two person household
$37,296 or less annually for a three person household
$44,955 or less annually for a four person household.
We have used our 50 vouchers that were given to Tucker for this summer. We have been notified that there are an additional 33 vouchers available to Tucker, if we could use them. If you, your neighbors and/or friends in Tucker and surrounding towns/cities qualify for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Voucher program that is available at our Tucker Farmers Market, please contact us. The Tucker Farmers Market is open every Thursday afternoons from 4 p.m – 8 p.m.
